1/11/08 - A Letter from Joan and Dan Russo!

Dear Neighbor;
Thank you so much for your donation to help a needy family this Christmas.  This year we collected a whopping $1,450 from 36 households in Falcon Ridge.  Through your contributions, we exceeded last year's donations by $520!  This is our fifth year of helping families in need and each year has been better than the last.  Thank you so much for your generosity.  Because your contributions were so significant, working with Social Services we were able to bring a little joy to others in need at this special time of the year.

We were able to get almost everything our special family wanted for Christmas.  Sneakers for all the kids, clothes for everyone, including this family's grandmother, who, as you may remember, had her let amputated.  We were also able to give a Gift Card and baby things for the oldest daughter who's expecting a child early this year.  We were able to give Gift Cards to Bi-Lo for Christmas Dinner and some extra Gift Cards to Wal-Mart for other things this family may need later on.  A very thankful and humble Mom accepted these gifts, asking that we send her most heartfelt thanks to each of you.

Because your contributions far exceeded what most groups collect, we spoke with Social Services to see how else we could help.  While children and families are the core of Christmas giving, there are many, many single people who are alone and in need of thoughtfulness, kindness and giving at this wonderful time.  So, because of your unbelievable generosity, we were able to get thirteen $50 Gift Cards to give to thirteen single people here in Charlotte.

Thanks again for your contribution and making this a very Merry Christmas for many special people.

Here's to a happy and healthy New Year to you and your family.
